Back with another MMM cus it’s hot and I don’t wanna write long stuff.
Today, we’ll be checking out the metal standard that is Motorhead’s Ace Of Spades. Check the video below:
Though the video is horribly synced at parts, we don’t really need to watch it, do we? Ace Of Spades is a legendary song, loved by metalheads and non-metalheads the world over. Lemmy (or, as he shall now be known, King Lemmy, Lord of Badassery) opens the song up with a killer bass riff. It’s no secret that his bass tone is one of the most enviable out there, adorably emulated by bands like Royal Blood. The tone is raw and powerful, basically Motorhead’s music in a nutshell. Another two words you could use to describe their discography are “hard” and “fast”, which this song definitely is. As the band name implies, Motorhead speed through this song with Philthy Animal keeping astute, if completely rabid, time with his coke-fiend drumming style. Let’s not the forget the guitars in this track either, with Fast Eddie living up to his nickname and matching Lemmy in riffability. But who cares about that crap! This is Motorhead, you can either listen to it and let it absorb you, or piss off.
…And don’t forget the joker.
Lots of hugs, kisses and lacerations
